– Proudly brought to you by OSHClub

Practicing mindfulness as we go in and out of lockdowns has never been more crucial for OSHClub families.

The changing of routines and school closures have led to many children having difficulty with completing daily tasks without getting restless and agitated.

We have compiled some effective mindfulness activities you can do with your children to help them stay calm and reduce stress.

  1. Kindness Checklist

‘Instead of worrying about what you cannot control, shift your energy to what you can create…Be the reason someone smiles. Be the reason someone feels loved and believes in the goodness in people.’ – Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

Create a list of kind actions together, or use this list here, and introduce some positivity into your day.

study found that if people who suffer with anxiety practice positive thinking, feelings of joy can last up to six hours.

Participants persistently thought about a positive event, which children can create these events by completing the kindness checklist.

  1. Yoga Dance Fun

It’s difficult to meet the recommended amount of physical activity while confined at home.

Medical professionals encourage exercise as an effective combative to mental illness with regular yoga restoring mental clarity and calmness.

Watch OSHClub educators, Hannah and Claire put a twist in yoga in this fun video.

  1. Teacup Gift Card

Gather up a mix of recycled paper from around your home and this video will teach them how to make sustainable Teacup Gift Cards.

They will be the perfect gift for their loved ones!

Encourage your child to use lots of different patterns, colours, and textures in this activity.

  1. Affirmation Cards

Help your child create their very own affirmation cards to bring some positive energy into their day.

OSHClub educator, Christine, will show you how to make them in this video.
