Telling our nations story through distinct furniture for Australian Schools

Woods Furniture supports the education sector by creating flexible and adaptable school furniture for schools around Australia. They believe that education is of the utmost importance – not just for the children of today but for our world tomorrow.

This belief has driven their team, for over half a century, to study how children learn – from a behavioral, ergonomic and cognitive perspective. It’s this philosophy that inspires the intelligently designed range of furniture from desks to seating, soft furnishings to storage for both students and teachers alike.

Being extremely proud of our Nation’s history. In 2020, to pay respect to the First Peoples of Australia, Woods Furniture introduced their Indigenous fabric range.

This was achieved by engaging the services of Steven Bekue, a proud Bundjaung and Bidjara man, to produce 7 Indigenous paintings that have been produced on fabric.

Steven Bekue was born and raised in south-east Queensland. His ancestors are the Arakwal people from the Bundjalung Nation of Australia’s East Coast. Bundjalung Nation is known as the “Saltwater People”. Each of his designs tells a story of the Bundjalung people’s culture and assists in educating students on our nation’s history.
